Physical Characteristics
The Seine is France's second longest river, right after the Loire. The Seine stretches 485 miles (781 kilometres) all the way from Plateau de Langres until it finally reaches the English Channel. The Seine flows North-West and has four major tributaries: the Aube, the Oise, the Yonne and the Marne. As it runs through Paris, 32 bridges connect the two banks of the Seine. The oldest of these bridges is Pont Neuf.
